Tips and tricks
Packing the basics
A successful trip begins with a well-packed case. With all their interior fittings (individual pockets, garment bags and dividers), DELSEY® luggage makes it easier for you.
Here are a few tips to help you master the art of packing:
- Don't overload your luggage. Place heavy, voluminous items at the bottom, near the hinges. Your case will seem lighter.
- In a suitcase, place your jacket on the bottom, button it up and fold in the sleeves. Lay your trousers in alternating layers with the belts at either side of the case on top of the jacket, leaving the legs over the sides. Place your shirts, sweaters, t-shirts and underwear on top. Next, fold the legs of the trousers over the other clothes, then do the same with the bottom of the jacket.

- If you are taking a travel bag, lay one pair of trousers on top of another and roll them up. They will take up less space and not get creased.
- Place a towel or something similar on top of your belongings to protect them against impact.
- Make sure your jackets, shirts and blouses are buttoned up. Pile them up and fold them together.
- Roll ties together, the same with belts. Stuff socks inside shoes or shirt collars to keep them in shape.
- When you arrive, if any of your clothes are creased, hang them in the bathroom and turn on the hot water. The steam will make the creases drop out.
- When travelling on business, use a special garment-bag to keep your suits crease-free.
DELSEY®, luggage that is easy to look after.
No-one would think of having a Rolls Royce and not looking after it. The same goes for DELSEY luggage. Except that it is a lot easier to keep in top condition. HARDSIDE DELSEY cases can be cleaned with soapy water and a soft brush. Household products can be used on plastic materials - but never use solvents. For stains on SOFTSIDE cases and travel bags, a soft brush and soapy water will be effective. Rinse the canvas well.
For leather luggage, only use products for leather. Never leave your luggage near a source of heat. |
